Hello- My international travel will begin on Feb 6th with a month in South America- Santiago, Chile, Patagonia, Buenos Aires, Igazu Falls and Rio. I'll post the evolving itinerary shortly that'll include the other sections too.
In the mean time a trip to Vail last week seemed to kick things off. Carrie and I flew SFO to Denver and met 9 great friends in Vail and boarded and skied.
I cashed in my Christmas present from Carrie and we took a day off boarding and went dogsledding in Ledville, CO. They had 92 dogs at this place, and let us hitch up 8 on our own sled (all 92 would have been cool). The oldest dog was the lead dog Rushin who was 9, and the youngest was a wheel dog (in the back...like an engine) named Astro. They actuallty had a 16 year old dog that still runs, but not with clients...largely due to the dropping dead potential.
They start out at about 15mph and cruised at about 10-12mph early on and tapered only a bit at the end. We also tried to pet all 92 dogs, and I think came pretty close. We fed the dogs water and raw meat at the end of the 45 minute run...it did not make me hungry.
Here's a video of Carrie driving with me shooting the video from in the sled. Dogs run FAST!

How can you beat this? Even if you were to go to Patagonia or Nepal or someplace like that?
N & P
So, when Rourke and I did this the most surprising thing was that the dogs were able to "do their business" while running. Oh my, it stank so bad.
Were these dogs the same?
